Emergency Travel Certificate
An Emergency Travel Certificate (ETC) is a travel document that can be issued to Nigerians who cannot apply for a passport in time for travel.

Who is eligible for an ETC?
ETC's are only available to Nigerians who meet the following criteria:
- They are traveling to Nigeria
- They cannot apply for a passport in time for travel
- Applicants must have another passport to return to the UK or must renew or replace their Nigerian passport during their stay in Nigeria in order to return.
- If you want to apply for a ETC but you don't intend to apply/renew your passport in Nigeria we can still assist you with your ETC application so that on your return you will have relevant documents to support your reason for not renewing/applying for a Nigerian passport in Nigeria
How do I apply for an ETC?
Travel certificates require biometric capture at the Nigerian High Commission.

Documents you need to provide for ETC
- Travel ticket
- 2 passport photos
- Nigerian passport
- In the case of a minor; a letter of consent signed by both parents and copies of both parents passports (we can help you draft the letter that will be signed)
- Please note there are other requirements necessary for your ETC application but we will be providing those.
